We welcomed Paparangi School into our school with a Powhiri. Aashna and I led the Powhiri with the karanga.

Andrew, Calum and Aston did their mihi. After each speaker we sung a waiata (song). Then Paparangi had 2 speakers. Paparangi gave our school a Koha (gift) which was a plant for our school. Then we shared a kai (food) and had a break.

Then we welcomed Paparangi onto the stage and their kapahaka group performed for us. Then our kapahaka group (Te Puawai Amua) performed for them.

After that we had lunch together, we played together and then they went back to their school.

I enjoyed the day because I met new people and it was the first time we had performed with our new name (Te Puawai Amua)
