At Te Kura o Bellevue, we have three karakia that we learn and use at different levels of the school.
Karakia (as described by otago.ac.nz) are prayers or incantations. They are generally used to ensure a favourable outcome to important events and undertakings. At Bellevue School, all classes or hubs start our day together with a karakia and a waiata in order to come together as a whānau and begin our learning day in a positive way.
